Job DescriptionTe Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunityWe are seeking a motivated and ambitious academic at the Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level to join our dynamic department. In this role, you will significantly contribute to the Department’s and School’s academic and research programmes, including mentoring the next generation of biomedical leaders, driving high-impact funding and research initiatives, and contributing to a culture of academic excellence and equity. You will teach into the University's new Bachelor of Biomedical Science degree, the Physiology major, and the Medical programme, delivering high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.You will hold a PhD in physiology or a closely related biomedical discipline. You will be expected to establish an independent, high-impact research program that complements and expands departmental strengths. In line with evolving national science funding priorities, we also welcome candidates who demonstrate an interest or track record in research translation, commercialisation, industry engagement, or clinical collaboration. The successful candidate will be a collaborative scholar capable of building interdisciplinary networks, securing contestable grant funding, supervising postgraduate research students, and engaging with broader community and health stakeholders.This is a fulltime (40h per week) permanent position.
