Job DescriptionTe Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunityThis position is part of the Health Economics Team within the Human Health Research Service Platform.  The Health Economist is responsible for supporting the delivery of high-quality health economics services across the Human Health Research Services Platform. Working under the leadership of the Health Economist Team Lead, the role contributes to study design, research protocols and grant applications, evidence reviews, costing, economic evaluation, decision-analytic modelling, data analysis and the communication of findings.The role takes ownership of assigned work within agreed project scopes, methods and timelines. It is expected to work with limited day-to-day supervision once an analysis plan has been agreed, while consulting the Team Lead on methodological decisions, priorities, risks and outputs requiring senior review. The position contributes to reproducible, policy-relevant research and to the ongoing development of the health economics service. You will be confident contributing to research protocols, grant applications, analysis plans and evidence reviews, and communicating health economics concepts clearly to multidisciplinary research teams.You will have a master’s degree in health economics, health policy, public health or a closely related field, with substantial formal training in health economics. You will have strong data analysis and programming skills, including competence in R, Stata, and Microsoft Office. In this role, you will significantly contribute to the Department’s and School’s academic and research programmes, including mentoring the next generation of biomedical leaders, driving high-impact funding and research initiatives, and contributing to a culture of academic excellence and equity. You will teach into the University's new Bachelor of Biomedical Science degree, the Physiology major, and the Medical programme, delivering high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.You will hold a PhD in physiology or a closely related biomedical discipline. Job DescriptionTe Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity We are seeking a Genomics Technologist to join the Grafton Clinical Genomics (GCG) team within the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences. GCG is an IANZ accredited laboratory located in the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, University of Auckland. GCG delivers high-quality genomics services that support both clinical diagnostics and research initiatives. This is a hands-on laboratory role where you will provide day-to-day technical expertise and contribute to the delivery of a high-quality genomics service. You will utilise advanced research and clinical technologies including MALDI-TOF Mass Spectrometry, NanoString nCounter, Illumina and MGI Next Generation Sequencing platforms, while supporting researchers, students and clinical stakeholders. You will also have the opportunity to further develop your genomics expertise as part of an expanding team of research technicians, professional staff and students. Key responsibilities: Operate and maintain specialised genomics equipment including MALDI-TOF Mass Spectrometry, NanoString, Illumina, MGI NGS and Real-Time PCR platforms.  Process and analyse clinical and research samples in accordance with laboratory procedures and quality standards.  Maintain laboratory protocols, documentation and records to support IANZ (ISO 15189) accreditation requirements.  Provide technical training, advice and support to researchers, students and laboratory users.  Assist with equipment maintenance, calibration and ongoing facility operations.  Support laboratory compliance, health and safety, and regulatory requirements.  Contribute to the development and implementation of new methods and workflows. This is a full time opportunity for a fixed term of 27 months The salary range for this role is $73,400 - $99,400 depending on skills and experience He kōrero mōu | About you You will be a technically capable laboratory professional with experience working in molecular genetics, genomics or a related discipline. Our work spans international clinical trials, natural history studies and translational research aimed at improving diagnosis, treatment and quality of life for people living with inherited neurological conditions.Our multidisciplinary team is led by Associate Professor Richard Roxburgh, Consultant Neurologist, and includes neurophysiologists, research nurses, physiotherapists, genetic counsellors and study coordinators.Participant assessments are conducted at Clinical Research Centre (Building 507, Grafton) for research in collaboration with international partners and pharmaceutical sponsors.Current projects include:Phase 3 clinical trials for focal epilepsy (tablets) and myotonic dystrophy (infusion).Observational studies to validate clinical outcome measures, characterise phenotypes and identify biomarkers.Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity We are seeking a motivated doctor to join our team as a Sub-Investigator on a casual basis.
