Job DescriptionTe Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity This is a key role supporting the delivery of complex genomics research programmes within the Liggins Institute. You will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects that fall under the Liggins Institute Genomics platform including the newborn genomics programme, cerebral palsy project and rare disorders programme. These projects will have national impacts helping families and individuals who are suffer from genetic diseases within Aotearoa | New Zealand. As our pouwhakarite, you will support the Centre’s Co-Director Māori and Māori Leadership Team in all aspects of their work; plan, promote and coordinate the Centre’s Māori outreach, education, workforce development and engagement activities and lead our Maori students’ summer research programme.You will bring with you an understanding of Te Ao Maori and experience of building relationships in Māori communities and stakeholders including researchers, students, community groups, educational organisations and health organisations.As a national centre, Pūtahi Manawa connects researchers and communities across the whole country. The role is based at the University of Auckland Grafton Campus. Job DescriptionTe Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity The Human Health Research Coordinator (HHRC) is responsible for effectively coordinating human health research studies, collaborating closely with PIs, research nurses, midwives, and other research staff. The HHRC will ensure the delivery of project objectives by coordinating all aspects of human health research activity, monitoring timelines, regulatory compliance, and reporting to the Team Lead Human Health Research Coordinator. The HHRC will also provide research support, assisting with research methods, protocols, data acquisition, report generation, participant engagement, and other tasks related to the research.This role requires availability to work between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm, with the remaining hours arranged flexibly across the week to align with participant availability and broader project needs.This is a fulltime (37.5 hours per week), fixed term (2 years) opportunity.The salary range for this role is $68,101 - $79,300 per annum pro-rated, depending on experience and qualifications.For more information, please view the position descriptionHe kōrero mōu | About youYou will bring experience coordinating or supporting human health research studies, with a strong understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), research ethics, and data management. You’ll be confident managing project timelines and research protocols, and have excellent communication skills - including the ability to engage warmly and professionally with study participants by phone and in person.You will have a relevant tertiary qualification in a field such as nursing, public health, science, allied health, social work or education, and you’ll be comfortable working independently while contributing to a collaborative and multidisciplinary team.
