Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
As the Department Administrator, you will provide high-quality administrative support across the Emergency Management and Business Continuity and Property and Campus Services teams. This varied role is central to ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the department, supporting key business functions, coordinating activities, maintaining accurate records, and delivering professional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
You'll coordinate meetings and training sessions, prepare documentation and reports, maintain document management systems and databases, manage correspondence, and provide administrative support during Incident Management Team activations. Working closely with a diverse range of staff, you'll help improve administrative processes while contributing to the University's emergency management and property operations.

- Coordinating meetings, managing documentation, maintaining databases, and producing high-quality reports and correspondence.
- Using Microsoft Office applications and document management systems to support efficient business operations.
- Delivering excellent customer service and communicating effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Managing multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional organisation and attention to detail.
- Working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Facilities Management is responsible for creating and maintaining safe, sustainable, and welcoming environments across the University of Canterbury. You'll work alongside the Emergency Management and Business Continuity team, Property and Campus Services, and a wide range of colleagues across the University to help ensure our campuses operate efficiently and are well prepared to support our staff, students, and visitors.
