    Mō tō mātou rōpū | About the team

    The Student Hubs team is the physical gateway to the Waipapa Taumata Rau | University of Auckland. We provide a welcoming, friendly, and mana-enhancing service for future and current students across their student journey.

    We deliver a wide range of services to support student on their journey at Waipapa Taumata Rau | University of Auckland. Our primary function is to deliver high quality in-person and online services that support students holistically. Our services include: 

    • guidance and advice on being a student 
    • navigating the University systems, spaces and processes 
    • exploring study options 
    • application and enrolment support 
    • Library & Student IT services 

    Our Hub Advisers provide advisory services primarily through 1:1 consultations for more complex enquiries, guiding students through their journey and connecting them in with appropriate University resources.

    Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity 

    As several of our valued kaimahi have taken up exciting secondment opportunities across the University, we are looking for 9 highly motivated individuals to join our Student Hub Adviser rōpū | team. This is a unique opportunity to step into a collaborative team while joining alongside a cohort of new Advisers, allowing you to learn and grow together from day one.

    Tai Tonga Student Hub

    10 AM – 6 PM, Monday-Friday (1 Vacancy)

    City Campus Student Hub

    9 AM – 5 PM, Monday-Friday  (3 Vacancies)

    10 AM – 6 PM, Monday – Friday (4 Vacancies)

    11 am – 7 pm, Monday – Friday (1 Vacancy)

    Our peak service periods are around the start of each semester. This is usually February - March and July. During these periods, you may be required to work 12 PM - 8 PM, and we would discuss this with you a few months in advance.

    All vacancies are full-time, 37.5 hours per week, fixed-term roles, ending 31 March 2028.  The salary range for this role is $65,400 - $69,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

    Our Recruitment Process

    As we do not use AI for screening or psychometric testing, we will be using your cover letter to assist us in longlisting, so we encourage you to be as authentic as possible and be mindful of this if you choose to use AI to assist you.

    Phone Screening: To assist us with shortlisting for interviews, we may be giving you a quick call. This is an informal chat and you do not have to prepare anything for this.

     

    There will be a two-stage volume recruitment process:

    Stage 1: Group Interviews which will be held either Monday 24th August or Tuesday 25th August 2026, between 10am and 1pm. Those who are invited to attend the interview will be provided of exact times and locations of the interview closer to the date.

    Following the group interviews, candidates will be assessed and shortlisted. Only shortlisted candidates will progress to Stage 2 for individual interviews.

     

    Stage 2: Individual Interviews which will be conducted on 31st August and 1st September. If you are successful in securing an individual interview, we would ask that you are available to attend your interview on one of the two days.

    The start date for all roles will be Monday 5 October 2026 and there will be a three-week full-time induction & training programme primarily based at the City Campus.
