Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
Join our friendly and supportive Health Centre team, where you'll play a vital role in delivering an outstanding experience for students, staff, and visitors. As the first point of contact, you'll provide professional reception and administrative support while helping ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of our busy medical practice.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You'll coordinate patient appointments, manage enquiries, maintain accurate medical records, process financial and funding claims, and support the Practice Manager with a range of operational and administrative responsibilities. You'll also become a key user of our clinical systems, helping staff resolve technical issues and ensuring the Health Centre continues to deliver an efficient, high-quality service.

You will have proven experience working in a busy healthcare or medical administration environment, where you've balanced exceptional customer service with accuracy, confidentiality, and strong organisational skills. You enjoy working in a fast-paced setting, take pride in providing excellent patient care, and can confidently manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
You will also be able to demonstrate experience in:
- Proven experience in a medical reception, healthcare administration or general practice environment.
- Proven experience using patient management or medical practice software (Medtech experience highly regarded).
- Proven experience processing financial transactions, claims, invoices or account reconciliations in a busy office environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Health Information Privacy Code and maintaining confidential patient records.
- Proven experience managing high-volume enquiries, appointments and competing priorities while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Strong computer literacy across Microsoft Office and business systems, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and act as a systems champion.
