    Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
    This is an exciting opportunity to work across the University, supporting health and safety initiatives while building strong relationships and contributing to a positive safety culture.

    You will provide essential coordination and administrative support to the Health and Safety team, helping deliver the University's health and safety strategy and day-to-day operations. Managing health and safety reporting systems, coordinate audits and workplace inspections, maintain records and documentation, and support the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and improvement initiatives.

    Helping organise committee meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, coordinate training and communication activities, maintain health and safety website content, and support a range of programmes and projects across the University. While acting as a key point of contact for stakeholders, helping ensure health and safety information, systems, and processes are accessible, accurate, and effective.

    Mōu | Who You Are

    You are a proactive and detail-oriented coordinator who enjoys building relationships, improving processes, and supporting meaningful organisational initiatives. You will also be able to demonstrate experience in:

    • 3-4 years’ experience in an administration or coordination role, preferably including 1-2 years’ experience in a Health and Safety support role.
    • Tertiary Qualification – National Diploma (NZQA Level 5) or Bachelor’s Degree (NZQA Level 7) in a related subject e.g., commerce, communications, human resources, health, and safety management.
    • Ability to understand and interpret legislation, processes, and procedures.
    • Strong experience coordinating meetings, committees, events, or projects
    • Proven experience maintaining databases, records, reporting systems, or business applications
    • Demonstrated ability to prepare reports, analyse information, and identify trends

    You will work closely with the Associate Director of Health and Safety, Health and Safety Business Partners, Learning and Development teams, and stakeholders across Faculties and Service Units. You will also engage with committee members, staff, and external providers to support the delivery of health and safety programmes and initiatives.
