Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting an experienced Tapuhi - Practice Nurse to join our close-knit and supportive nursing team. The role is permanent, full-time with flexibility for the right candidate. Experience in primary care and/or using Indici would be an advantage.
This is a clinical role, working with our awesome team of Nurses, GPs and Support staff to contribute to the delivery of effective quality primary care to University students in a challenging and yet very rewarding environment.
You will also work closely with Student Counselling, Nurse Practitioners, Health Improvement Practitioners, the Health Coach and other Student Support teams.
Ō pūmanawa - About you
Ideally, you will have the following:
- Broad experience in a primary health care setting.
- Experience in triaging and assessment of acute needs.
- Experience in sexual health and contraception would be an advantage.
- Empathy and interest in working with a diverse student population.
- Experience and interest in working in Māori and Pasifika health an advantage.
- A genuine interest in younger people's health care needs.
- Familiarity and competence using Primary Care Medical Records Software.
- Current Annual Practising Certificate from the Nursing Council of NZ.
