    Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
    As a creative and technically skilled Video and Multimedia Producer, you will help tell the University of Canterbury's story through compelling visual content that inspires, informs, and engages audiences. Working within UC's Marketing, Communications and Events team, you will create high-quality multimedia content that strengthens the university's reputation and connects with future students, staff, partners, and the wider community.

    You will play a key role in bringing UC's stories to life by:

    • Producing engaging video and multimedia content across marketing, communications, and event channels.
    • Planning, scripting, storyboarding, filming, and editing content for campaigns, websites, social media, events, and other strategic initiatives.
    • Capturing high-quality video, photography, audio, and multimedia assets using professional production equipment.
    • Managing projects through all stages of production, from concept development through to final delivery.
    • Collaborating closely with stakeholders and the wider Production Team to ensure content is aligned with UC's brand, strategic priorities, and audience needs.
    • Exploring new multimedia tools, formats, and production techniques to continually enhance content quality and effectiveness.

    You are a passionate visual storyteller with strong production skills and an eye for creating engaging content that resonates with diverse audiences. You thrive in a collaborative environment while also being confident managing projects independently.

    To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

    • At least 3 years' experience in video or multimedia production, ideally within a large or complex organisation.
    • Experience researching, scripting, storyboarding, filming, and producing multimedia content.
    • Strong capability using professional video, audio, and lighting equipment.
    • Experience editing and delivering content across digital and social media channels.
    • Strong knowledge of video production and post-production workflows.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
    • Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
    • Creative thinking, initiative, and strong problem-solving abilities.
    • A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, UC's values, and an inclusive working environment.

    You will join UC's Marketing, Communications and Events team within the Engagement portfolio and work closely with the Production Manager, communications and marketing specialists, event teams, academic staff, researchers, students, and stakeholders from across the university.

    Together, you will create content that amplifies UC's voice and showcases the impact of its people, research, teaching, and community.
