    Who we are | Ko wai mātou

    Health Research South (HRS) is the entity responsible for the integrity of the health research conducted within the joint research environment of the Faculty of Medicine - Dunedin (FoM-D) and Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora – Southern. Operating out of the FoM-D’s Office of the Dean, HRS promotes and approves the arrangements for undertaking research within this joint environment and also takes on the role of research office for Health NZ Southern.

    The role | Te mahi

    In this role you will provide a high level of effective and efficient research administration support to HRS, including financial administration support, to enhance and safeguard the research performed in the FoM-D and Health NZ Southern. You will manage the processes for distributing HRS funds and other funding rounds facilitated by HRS and carry out accurate and timely entry of information into databases.

    Alongside the above you will provide administrative support to relevant Research Committees, compile accurate and timely monthly/quarterly reports to various groups including the HRS Oversight Kāhui and with monitoring and administration of Health NZ Southern research accounts and reporting to HRS Manager and Oversight Kāhui.

    Other key tasks include:
    • Provide administrative support for the HRS Manager and Oversight Kāhui.
    • Maintain a system of quality improvement and good practice in the administrative functions of the office.
    • Manage the archiving of completed research projects.
    • Provide support to workshops and events that celebrate Health NZ Southern and FoM-D research activity.
    • Work as an effective team member with others engaged in research administration within the University of Otago and Health NZ Southern.

    Your skills and experience | Kā pūkeka me kā wheako

    We are looking for someone with experience in an administrative environment, who has computer literacy and technical proficiency in Microsoft Office programmes including Excel. You would be a strong written and spoken communicator with an interest in health research. Having experience in financial administration desirable and a tertiary qualification or equivalent experience is desirable.

    This is a permanent position, part time (22.5 hours) position based in Ōtepoti, Dunedin.

    The appointment range for this role is $63,508 to $68,185. Top of range is $73,640 (pro rata).
