Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury is undertaking a significant transformation through the implementation of Workday. We are looking for an experienced Change Analyst to help support the implementation and adoption of Workday across university.

Working within the UC Workday change management workstream, you will support the Strategic Change Manager and collaborate with staff across the University. You will focus on impacts and translate identified impacts into practical change interventions that support a smooth transition. Exceptional attention to detail is essential, as impacts that are overlooked could negatively affect user experience, business continuity and successful adoption.

In this hands-on role, you will:

    • Work with end users, functional leads and project team members to understand and document the gaps between current-state and future-state ways of working.
    • Identify who and what will be impacted by each gap, considering people and organisation structure, technology, process, policy, information and reporting, services, location and facilities, and culture.
    • Facilitate impact discovery and validation sessions with end users and subject-matter experts, challenging assumptions and resolving gaps or inconsistencies.
    • Continue to develop the following artefacts:
      • High-level Impacts by audience, summarising impacts by function and key stakeholder groups.
      • Detailed Impact Assessments by Workday function, clearly documenting key changes, resulting impacts and affected stakeholder groups.
      • Persona Impacts that show the cumulative impact of change on stakeholder groups, including increases or decreases in workload.
      • Process Change slides that clearly explain changes for end users within a Workday module.
      • Impact Plans that link priority impacts and necessary change management interventions/activities required to minimise or mitigate the impact.
    • Identify and escalate impact-related risks, interdependencies, assumptions, decisions and information gaps that could affect readiness, adoption or business continuity.
    • Contribute impact insights to change readiness assessments, communications and engagement, training, and go-live support.
    • Support the transition to Workday by facilitating workshops, end-user training courses and providing post-go-live support.
    • Capture unanticipated or emerging impacts during transition and after go-live, and recommend adjustments to change interventions and support arrangements.

    Mōu | Who You Are
You are a pragmatic and collaborative change professional who can move comfortably between analysis, planning, facilitation and delivery. You build confidence and trust, listen carefully, communicate complex ideas clearly and understand that successful transformation depends on bringing people with you.

    You will bring:

    • At least two years’ experience applying change management principles and methodologies to large-scale organisational change.
    • Proven change management experience and the ability to assess change impacts within a complex transformation programme, preferably involving ERP implementation. Workday experience would be highly advantageous.
    • Solid understanding of change management principles, tools and practices.
    • Exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to assess change impacts and develop effective strategies.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to engage and influence stakeholders.
    • Strong workshop facilitation, interviewing and stakeholder engagement skills.
    • A proven ability to build effective relationships and work with people at all levels of a complex organisation.
    • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team.
    • A relevant bachelor’s degree, ideally in management, information technology, education or a related field.

A Prosci Change Management certification and experience in tertiary education would be desirable. Competency in te reo Māori me ōna tikanga would also be an advantage.
