    Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

    Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is seeking an experienced Mata Awhinuku - Faculty Operations Manager to join Te Wāhanga Aronui - Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS) on a permanent, full-time basis.

    Reporting directly to the Amo Aronui - Dean, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and supporting the Faculty’s success. As a trusted strategic partner, you will support the Faculty to achieve its goals through efficient and effective operational and financial management.

    This is a highly influential role where no two days are the same. You will oversee the Faculty’s budget and operational performance, provide high-quality financial and operational advice, review and streamline processes, and work closely with the Dean and senior leaders to support the delivery of the Faculty’s operational and strategic priorities.

    Ideally, you will bring:

    • Extensive experience in operational and financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and business performance.
    • A strong understanding of the tertiary education sector, or experience working in similarly complex environments.
    • Exceptional relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, combined with a focus on continuous improvement.
    • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate competing priorities with confidence.
    • Resilience, sound judgement, and the ability to remain calm in a dynamic environment.
