Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a permanent, full-time Reporting Analyst to join the Strategy and Planning team. The role is based primarily in Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University’s Pipitea campus, however offers flexible working based on agreement with manager.
Key responsibilities:
Government funding reporting requirements.
Managing ad hoc requests for information.
- Data analysis.
- Business analysis support.

You will:
- Be a motivated and collaborative reporting professional who enjoys turning complex data into clear, meaningful information.
- Be comfortable working across technical and business areas, managing competing priorities, and building trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Bring a proactive, customer-focused approach and a strong commitment to accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key requirements:
- Strong SQL skills, ideally within Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server environments, with the ability to work confidently with complex datasets.
- Experience using data visualisation and reporting tools such as Power BI to communicate information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated business analysis skills, including gathering requirements, documenting processes, testing solutions, and working with stakeholders to deliver fit-for-purpose outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong self-management skills, including the ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines, adapt to changing requirements, and contribute proactively within a collaborative team.
- A relevant tertiary qualification, or equivalent professional experience in reporting, analytics, information systems, or a related discipline.
