    The Opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi 

    The Technology Experience & Enablement Senior Manager is a permanent full time role, that leads AUT's digital workplace strategy and the team responsible for delivering exceptional technology experiences to students, researchers, and staff.

    The role ensures AUT's technology ecosystem is secure, intelligent, accessible, and continuously evolving to support productivity, collaboration, engagement, and innovation across the University.

    You will be responsible for driving the adoption of modern workplace technologies, artificial intelligence, automation, and digital experience initiatives that enable AUT's strategic ambitions.

    Reporting to the Director Client Facing Technology, the Technology Experience & Enablement Senior Manager provides strategic and operational leadership across AUT's modern workplace and digital experience portfolio. This includes endpoint management (Microsoft and Apple), Microsoft 365 services, collaboration platforms, identity services, employee experience technologies, digital adoption, and AI-enabled productivity solutions.

    The role balances long-term strategy with delivery excellence, leading multidisciplinary teams that ensure technology delivers meaningful outcomes for the AUT community.

    As a professional staff member at AUT, you’ll help our university thrive by improving services, supporting students and staff and driving practical improvements across our campuses. We’re looking for people with energy, curiosity and openness to new ideas who bring a collaborative, adaptable approach and contribute to a positive workplace culture.

    You’ll also bring cultural humility and respect for Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Indigenous peoples and diverse communities. Experience supporting Indigenous, equity or inclusion-focused initiatives is highly valued.

    To be successful in this role, you will have:

    • 8–12+ years in IT, with at least 5 years in modern workplace, endpoint management, or digital workplace leadership, with demonstrable experience in:
    • Leading and developing a high-performing team of technology specialists and leaders.
    • Managing delivery priorities, investment planning, vendor relationships, and service performance.
    • Fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous improvement, and digital curiosity.
    • Ensuring modern, secure, scalable, and resilient digital workplace services.
    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Information Systems, or a related discipline.
    • A commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and supportive of AUT’s Te Aronui journey.
