Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
Help shape the future of learning at UC by designing engaging, innovative and student-centred learning experiences across hybrid, blended and online courses and programmes. As a Learning Designer, you will work at the intersection of pedagogy, technology and creativity to support academics in delivering high-quality learning experiences. In this role you will:
- Design engaging, learner-centred experiences for hybrid, blended and online courses.
- Provide learning design advice to support course development and redevelopment.
- Work with academic staff and subject matter experts to develop effective learning and assessment activities.
- Support staff to incorporate blended learning and flexible learning strategies into their courses.
- Develop and maintain high-quality learning resources aligned with curriculum and learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with media specialists to select and develop engaging digital content and resources.
Mōu | Who You Are
You combine strong learning design expertise with creativity, collaboration and a genuine focus on student outcomes. You will be able to demonstrate experience in:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Learning Design-related role involving hybrid / online delivery (Preferably in an academic setting)
- Tertiary Qualification – National Diploma (NZQA Level 7) in Education / Learning Design / Instructional Design / e Learning or a related discipline area or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience applying learning design and pedagogical principles to course development
- Experience developing engaging learning activities, resources or assessment approaches
- Demonstrated experience identifying issues, developing solutions and managing competing deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience producing clear documentation
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in dynamic project or product environments
