Mō te tūka | The role
As our Multimedia Content Creator, you'll help bring learning, teaching and research to life through high-quality digital media. Based in our Learning, Teaching and Library team, you'll work closely with academic staff, the Video and Multimedia Specialist, and other University stakeholders to create engaging multimedia content that supports an outstanding student experience.
Some tasks of the role include:
- Creating and producing videos, photography, podcasts, graphics and animations
- Supporting multimedia productions both on campus and off site, including filming, editing and quality control
- Coordinating production schedules and supporting multiple multimedia projects
- Maintaining organised multimedia records and content management systems
- Staying up to date with emerging digital media technologies and best practice
- Promoting and supporting the effective use of multimedia in education
This is a creative and collaborative role where you'll be involved in the full production process, from planning and filming through to editing and final delivery. You'll have the opportunity to work across a variety of projects, helping to showcase innovative teaching practices and research outcomes through modern digital media.
Mahi & Wāhi / Utu | Work pattern, location & salary
This permanent role is based at our Lincoln Campus and works 37.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE). The salary range for this position is $62,000 - $67,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role
To be successful in the role you will have
- A relevant tertiary qualification and at least one year of experience in multimedia content creation or a related field
- Experience creating and editing original video and multimedia content across a variety of formats
- Strong skills in video production, filming, editing and the use of production equipment such as cameras and lighting
- Experience using industry-standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, Premiere Pro and After Effects) and/or Final Cut Pro
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences and provide outstanding client service
