Job Description:
Build and strengthen lifelong connections with alumni through engagement communications, events, storytelling, relationship management, and the effective management of alumni data and insights.
Mō te tūka | The role
As our Alumni Relationships Officer, you'll play a key role in keeping Lincoln University alumni connected, informed and engaged with their alma mater. Working with the Stakeholder Relationship team, you'll build meaningful relationships with alumni, coordinate engaging events and initiatives, and deliver communications that showcase alumni achievements and the University's impact.
Some tasks of the role include:
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with alumni and identifying opportunities for alumni involvement across the University
- Planning and delivering alumni events, reunions and engagement activities in New Zealand and internationally
- Managing and maintaining the alumni database, including data quality, research and reporting
- Creating engaging alumni communications, newsletters, digital content and success stories
- Coordinating alumni networks, communities and engagement initiatives that strengthen connections with Lincoln University
- Monitoring and reporting on alumni engagement activities, event outcomes and key performance measures
This is a varied and people-focused role where you'll work with alumni, students, staff and external stakeholders to foster lifelong connections with Lincoln University, while supporting the University's reputation and strategic priorities through effective engagement and storytelling.
Mahi & Wāhi / Utu | Work pattern, location & salary
This permanent role is based at our Lincoln Campus and works 37.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE).
The salary for this position is $85,000 - $95,000 per annum, depending on experience.
To be successful in the role you will have
- A tertiary qualification in business development, marketing, communications or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
- At least three years' experience in alumni relations, stakeholder engagement, communications, marketing, event management or a similar role
- Proven experience planning, coordinating and delivering successful events and engagement activities
- Excellent written communication skills, with experience developing newsletters, reports, stories or other engagement content
- Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Well-developed organisational, analytical and database management skills, including experience maintaining data quality, producing reports and insights and using CRM systems to support engagement activities with the ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and maintain accurate records
- Flexibility for domestic travel and occasional work outside normal office hours to support alumni events and activities.
