    Digital Services provides the technology, systems, and support that enable teaching, learning, research, and operations across the University.

    The role | Te mahi

    This is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering new data and insights capabilities that will help improve outcomes for learners.

    Working closely with stakeholders, data specialists, architects, and engineers, you'll identify business needs, define requirements, and help shape products that turn data into meaningful insights.

    In this role you will:
    • Lead business analysis activities across data platform and learner insights initiatives.
    • Translate business needs into clear requirements and priorities that support delivery.
    • Work with stakeholders and technical teams to define data requirements, metrics, and outcomes.
    • Help shape data products that improve decision-making and learner outcomes.

    You are an experienced Senior Business Analyst who thrives in complex environments and enjoys working at the intersection of business, data, and technology.

    With strong analytical and stakeholder engagement skills, you're able to bring clarity to ambiguity, build trusted relationships, and translate complex ideas into practical solutions.

    Essential:
    • Proven senior-level business analysis experience delivering complex digital, data, or technology initiatives.
    • Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills, with the ability to work effectively across business and technical teams.
    • Experience defining business requirements, processes, and outcomes that support successful delivery.
    • Strong understanding of data and analytics, including translating business needs into meaningful insights.
    • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent professional experience.

    Preferred:
    • Experience working with data platforms, analytics, business intelligence, or reporting environments.
    • Experience within education, learner insights, or customer-focused data environments.

    This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), 18-month fixed-term position. While Dunedin is our preferred location, flexible and remote working arrangements will be considered.

    We offer a competitive salary, five weeks’ annual leave, a 6.75% superannuation scheme, and the ability to achieve real work/life balance.
