    The University of Otago is transforming how we support our people. Our People Pathway (OPP) is a major programme delivering a new Human Resources Information Management (Workday) system across the University. We are seeking a Senior Test Analyst to support delivery of this high-impact programme.

    The role | Te mahi

    This role sits within Our People Pathway, the University's Workday implementation programme, supporting the delivery of new people, process, data and technology capability across the University. Working across business and technical teams, you will provide testing expertise, coordinate testing activities, and help ensure solutions are fit for purpose and meet business needs.
    This is an opportunity to contribute to a significant enterprise transformation that will improve how staff experience core HR services.

    Work will include:
    • Planning and coordinating testing activities across the Workday programme.
    • Testing Workday, Dayforce aPay and integrations with other University systems.
    • Leading and coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business stakeholders and subject matter experts.
    • Working with implementation partners and technical teams to improve testing approaches.
    • Supporting functional, integration, end-to-end and non-functional testing activities.
    • Managing defects, test evidence and reporting to support quality outcomes.
    • Supporting test data, test environment and test readiness activities across the implementation lifecycle.
    • Working collaboratively with stakeholders, Digital Services and implementation partners to support delivery, change readiness and transition to business-as-usual operations.

    We are looking for a Senior Test Analyst who can bring expertise and practical thinking to complex work, work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, and support the delivery of high-quality outcomes.

    To succeed in this role, you will bring:
    • Proven experience coordinating testing activities for complex technology projects or transformation initiatives.
    • Strong experience in test planning, execution, defect management and reporting.
    • Experience analysing requirements and translating them into effective test scenarios and test cases.
    • Experience leading and coordinating User Acceptance Testing with business stakeholders and subject matter experts.
    • Experience testing complex, integrated systems across multiple platforms, including integration and end-to-end testing.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain testing concepts, risks and outcomes clearly.

    The following would be an advantage:
    • Experience testing ERP, HR or payroll systems.
    • Knowledge of Workday or other Human Resources Information Systems.
    • Experience with API testing.
    • ISTQB or another recognised testing qualification.
    • Experience with performance testing or performance measurement tools.
    • Knowledge of accessibility or security testing.

    This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), fixed-term position for 2 years, based in Ōtepoti, Dunedin.

    The appointment range for this role is $99,364 to $107,888. Top of range $114,280.
