Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting for a Communications and Marketing Manager, Development to join Te Kura Tangata - Development and Alumni Relations Office on a permanent, full-time basis.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead philanthropic communications for Te Kura Tangata - Development and Alumni Relations Office, working closely with the central Communications and Marketing Group.
- Provide effective leadership, management, and coaching of the philanthropic communications team.
- Develop and manage marketing and communications plans and projects for Te Kura Tangata - Development and Alumni Relations Office and Foundation.
- Contribute to the development of strategic plans covering engagement activities across Te Kura Tangata - Development and Alumni Relations Office.

You will be a motivated individual who can take initiative, provide excellent advice and apply your significant communications and marketing experience to achieve strategic goals. To thrive in this role, you’ll have an excellent manner with people, an ability to influence and manage, strong attention to detail, and leadership skills.
Key requirements:
- An appropriate tertiary qualification or experience in communications, marketing or engagement.
- Strong knowledge and experience in philanthropic communications, marketing and/or engagement roles.
- Demonstrable experience in relation to strategic thinking, planning and delivery.
- Broad knowledge of communications, marketing and engagement principles, processes, techniques and technologies.
- Effective people management skills with an inclusive approach.
