We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Specialist who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of our students, and in particular, our rainbow students.  We are looking for an experienced clinician who may come from a youth, educational, statutory, or community setting and has a proven ability to provide professional therapy. This role plays a crucial part in supporting our students' well-being and academic development, and success.  AUT mental health advisors carry out assessments and provide solution-focused therapeutic interventions. Our team works closely with other support services to provide a holistic and wrap-around support for students with additional needs.

We have a new permanent role available based primarily at the City Campus and one day on the North Campus.

Nga haepapa matua | Key Responsibilities 

As an experienced mental health professional with proven success in a therapeutic role, you will also bring:

• A demonstrated commitment in your practice to Te Reo Māori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and Tikanga Māori.
• Experience providing mental health support within the rainbow community. Experience supporting clients who are neurodiverse would be a bonus!
• A demonstrated commitment in your practice to Diversity and Inclusion.
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant health profession such as social work, counselling, psychology, nursing, occupational therapy, or similar.
• Current annual practising certificate.
• Minimum of five year's clinical experience post qualification, providing therapeutic intervention, assessment, risk management, and case management.

Ngā Utu | Salary: $91,500 - $111,500 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)
