Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
The University of Canterbury is seeking a proactive and detail-focused Administrator to join our Risk and Assurance team. This position provides administrative and both internal and external stakeholder service delivery support with a key focus on the implementation and maintenance of our bespoke Enterprise Risk Management system.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the Enterprise Risk Management system, including training documentation and user support.
- Assist with the delivery of travel insurance procedures for UC staff and students, ensuring adherence to regulations and prompt processing
- Provide high-quality administrative and project support to the different functions within the Risk and Assurance team; risk, audit, and insurance.
- Ensure the accuracy of records and data, using internal systems including SharePoint, and contribute to process enhancements.
- Facilitate effective communications with internal and external stakeholders, and support the preparation of reports for senior leadership and management/governance committees.
Mōu | Who You Are
You will have at least 4 years' administrative experience in a complex medium-to-large organisation or tertiary education setting as well as being able to demonstrate:
- Strong technical aptitude in software and digital platforms, including competency in Sharepoint, and a keen interest in streamlining processes through IT solutions.
- Evidence of supporting teams deliver projects and an understanding of project management techniques.
- Previous experience with an Enterprise Risk Management Solution
- Ability to apply processes and policies correctly
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly to diverse audiences
- Ability to ensure time-sensitive priorities are addressed effectively along with a high attention to detail, strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to build positive relationships and work both independently and as part of a team.

The Risk and Assurance team is a small, dedicated team of subject matter experts in risk, insurance, and assurance that strives to support and improve the effectiveness of the University's risk management and controls environment. The Risk and Assurance team is part of the Planning, Finance and Digital Services (PFDS) Department.
