Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Kaimātai Rāhiri - HR Support Administrator to join Pūmanawa Tāngata - Human Resources on a fixed-term basis. This role is primarily part-time, with the potential for full-time hours (40-hours per week) until the end of September 2025. The fixed-term duration is expected to start late July and extend until approximately the end of April 2026.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide timely and professional responses to a shared inbox on a variety of general HR topics.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service, communication, and engagement.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse range of people.
  • Support recruitment activities including advertising, pre-employment checks, and immigration.
  • Offer basic trouble shooting and guidance for the wider HR teams such as Advisory, technical, and payroll teams.
  • Process documents on behalf of new, current, and previous employees such as employee verifications & certifications.

You will be a motivated, people-focused candidate who can take the initiative and provide excellent administration support to University employees. To thrive in this role, you should have an excellent manner with people through both written and verbal communication, an ability to problem-solve, strong attention to detail, experience editing and proofing information, and strong self-management skills. This role can be busy and challenging at times, but you will be working with a supportive and approachable team who are always happy to help.
