Barista

In this varied role, you’ll bring your passion for coffee, food preparation, and outstanding service to our vibrant halls of residence. From crafting great barista coffee to helping coordinate catering for events, you’ll play a key part in ensuring our residents feel at home.

Salary band for this position is $48,665 - $57,738 based on a 40-hour working week, skills and experience.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing high-quality barista beverages and light food items
• Providing exceptional front-of-house service and assistance in our food outlets
• Supporting catering operations for student and staff functions
• Ensuring high standards of hygiene, presentation, and safety are maintained

We are looking for someone who has:

• Proven experience in barista service and general food preparation
• A friendly, approachable manner with a strong customer service focus
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings and weekends as required
• A commitment to health and safety, and food safety best practices
• NZ Certificate in Food and Beverage Service (Level 3) is essential
• NZQA Food Safety 167 and 168 is essential
