Āu Mahi | What You Will Do

The University of Canterbury is seeking a proactive and detail-focused Administrator to join our Risk and Assurance team. This position provides administrative and customer service support with a key focus on the implementation and maintenance of our Enterprise Risk Management system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the Enterprise Risk Management system, including training documentation and user support.
  • Administer travel insurance processes for UC staff and students, ensuring compliance and timely processing.
  • Provide high-quality administrative support to the Risk and Assurance team across functions such as risk, audit, insurance, and business continuity.
  • Maintain accurate records, manage internal systems such as SharePoint and intranet pages, and support process improvements.
  • Coordinate communications with internal and external stakeholders, and assist in preparing reports for senior leadership and committees.

Mōu | Who You Are

You will have at least 4 years' administrative experience in a complex medium-to-large organisation or tertiary education setting as well as being able to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience with an Enterprise Risk Management Solution
  • Ability to apply processes and policies correctly
  • Strong technical (software and digital platforms) aptitude and keenness to streamline processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences
  • Ability to ensure time-sensitive priorities are addressed effectively along with a high attention to detail, strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships, working independently and collaboratively to foster
  • An alignment with our organisation's values and culture, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.

You will be joining a great supportive team and full training will be provided.

The Risk and Assurance team is a small, dedicated team of subject matter experts in risk, insurance, and assurance that strives to support and improve the effectiveness of the University's risk management and controls environment. The Risk and Assurance team is part of the Planning, Finance and Digital Services (PFDS) Department.
