Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Join Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington as our next Manutaki - Director, Strategy and Planning, leading a high-performing team at the centre of university. Focused on strategic development, planning, and reporting. This is a permanent, full-time role.

As part of the Tumu Whakarae - Vice-Chancellor’s Office, you will provide critical analysis, insights and decision support to the University’s leadership. You'll work alongside Te Hiwa - Senior Leadership Team to ensure alignment with our Strategic Plan, compliance with external reporting obligations and delivery of forward-thinking strategy that guides our decision making and reflects our commitment to excellence, community, equity and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

You will be a strategic thinker and collaborative leader. Experienced in planning, analysis, organisational development and someone who thrives on meaningful impact and engaging with a varying range of teams and perspectives.

Key requirements:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and/or extensive experience in strategic planning and decision support.
  • Proven expertise in performance reporting, compliance, and data governance.
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
  • High analytical skills for dealing with varied data, being able to practically apply Data to relevant situations, enacting change.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience in higher education or public institution settings is a plus.
