We are recruiting for an experienced Executive Assistant for a unique opportunity to join the Division of Health at the University of Waikato. Dedicated to undertaking research and teaching to achieve better, fairer health outcomes in Aotearoa, this is a great opportunity to join a new team on an exciting journey.
Providing high-level professional support to the Pro Vice-Chancellor of Health, you’ll understand the priorities, strategy and workflow of the senior leadership team to make sound judgements on the best use of time. This role involves managing high-level, urgent, and confidential matters and is central to engagement with both internal and external stakeholders. Success depends on ensuring that these key relationships function seamlessly and effectively.
A Typical Day
- Being the first point of contact on behalf of the Pro Vice-Chancellor and senior leaders
- Providing administrative support including document preparation for letters, memos and papers using the highest standards of formal business English
- Managing complex diaries for external and internal engagements
- Arranging meetings and appointments, liaising with internal and external stakeholders and coordinating papers and presentations required
- Developing sound administrative systems to support decision-making outcomes
- Establishing key relationships to enable the Pro Vice-Chancellor and senior leaders to perform their roles effectively
