AUT is seeking a talented Social Media Lead to join our dynamic Digital Marketing team and bring our strategic business objectives to life, all while embracing the creative flair essential to organic social media success.
As our Social Media Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping AUT's social media presence. Reporting to the Senior Manager - Social and Digital Marketing, you will be responsible for implementing AUT's social media strategy that strengthens our brand voice, elevates engagement, and complements our external campaigns.
This role is anything but restrictive—you'll have the opportunity to showcase your versatility and creativity. From strategic planning and content production to storytelling and performance reporting, you'll truly wear many hats. As our social brand guardian, you'll ensure that all our collective brand and school pages adhere to best practices and industry standards.
Collaboration is at the heart of this role. You'll work closely with stakeholders, content creators, faculty, and even students to ensure every voice across AUT is authentically represented and brought to life.
This position is perfect for someone passionate about social media and storytelling, with a proactive, production-focused mindset when it comes to crafting and developing content.
Reporting into the Senior Manager - Social and Digital Marketing role, you will:
- Implement and feed into AUT's comprehensive social media and digital strategy to increase brand visibility and engagement across various platforms.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop content that aligns with AUT's overall strategic goals.
- Report on the performance of channels and offer recommendations to stakeholders for future & planned activities.
- Act as a brand guardian for AUT to improve audience engagement.
- Create and manage content calendars for social media channels, ensuring consistent and compelling messaging.
- Stay informed on trends and issues relevant to AUT to stay ahead of the curve.
- Manage and optimise social media channels.
- Lead the production and creation of short-form video (SFV) content for our social channels.
- Manage and enhance the relationship between AUT and our part-time student content creators.
- Ensure all videos are brand-approved and abide by AUT's privacy and consent policies.

The requirements of the role will include:
- A tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, social media, or a related discipline.
- Minimum three years of experience in social media, communications, and/or digital marketing.
- Excellent understanding of social media channels and tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box and propose innovative ideas.
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to build relationships and work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Ability to project manage
