Who we are | Ko wai mātou

Auckland University of Technology (AUT) is a vibrant, achievement-oriented, and rewarding place to work. As one of the world's top 30 millennial universities and New Zealand's newest, AUT offers a stimulating teaching and research environment with strong connections to business and industry.  We have over 29,000 students across our three Auckland teaching campuses.

About the role | Kōrero mō te tūranga

Our Learning Design team at LTED (Office of Learning, Teaching and Educational Design) is a central university service. In this role, you will cover a broad range of educational practices, which include innovative pedagogy, curriculum development, assessment, digital learning, and scholarship/pedagogical research. Our team supports strategic priorities in learning and teaching at AUT. You will help design, develop, and deliver exceptional learning experiences through the project to implement the new assessment principles, policy, and procedures across 2 years. The nature of the work is highly collaborative - building relationships with academic practitioners, learning technologists, professional staff, and students is critical.

 About you | Kōrero mōu

Successful applicants will need to be able to hit the ground running and be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience creating and working within systematic learning design processes at scale, including leading and managing multiple projects and associated milestones
  • A proven track record of working with academics/specialists to achieve outcomes that meet project needs
  • Evidence of an evidence-based approach for provisioning of a broad range of learning and teaching support activities, including academic consultation, curriculum design , and support for assessment design
  • Sustained experience of working on programme-wide and new course developments within a university
  • Experience in facilitating and supporting programme-wide discussions through workshops to achieve project goals
  • A commitment to enacting Te Aronui, AUT's Te Tiriti framework , and a great fit with our team culture.

Culture | Ahurea

Mā te huruhuru ka rere te manu | Adorn the bird with feathers so it may soar

LTED's whakatauki reflects the idea that a bird cannot fly without feathers, but if you give the bird what it needs, it can thrive. For us, this embodies the belief that as staff become more enabled and empowered, they will soar to great heights and be successful in their own way.

Our philosophy is to support staff to do as much for themselves as they can, working as their partner in learning, offering them choice, encouraging their leadership, and modelling the AUT values of tika, pono, and aroha. These become the feathers they will use to spread their wings, and a korowai to protect them.

 Benefits | Huanga

  • Professional development
  • Generous leave allowances
  • Flexible and hybrid working options
