Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Research Contracts Adviser to join the Contracts and Systems team in Te Tari Rangahau - Research Office on a permanent contract. Te Tari Rangahau - Research Office supports and assists researchers with funding opportunities, grant applications, and research contracts.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the Research Trust of Victoria (RTV) and Te Tari Rangahau - Research Office teams to anticipate any contract delivery concerns or delays and work to resolve them in a manner beneficial to the University and consistent with its goal of being a top performing institution.
  • Evaluate and analyse contracts that are successful and unsuccessful, then inform Te Tari Rangahau - Research Office proposal teams to improve proposal writing support for researchers.
  • Collaborate with the Research Data Analyst to produce data-supported evidence of findings by utilising the office’s project management software systems.

You will be a switched-on, fast learner, with an eye for detail.

Your excellent communication, problem-solving and database skills coupled with a genuine customer-focused approach, will be essential to success in this role. Your demonstrated experience as both a team player and a self-starter would be a definite advantage.

You will likely have an interest in research and for the right person, this is a role that could grow in it’s potential to add value.
