Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Mātangi Tapuhi - Nurse Practitioner to join the Mauri Ora - Student Health and Counselling team on a permanent, part-time basis.

This is a clinical role, working with our awesome team of Rata Whānui - General Practitioners, Tapuhi - Practice Nurses and support staff to contribute to the delivery of effective quality primary care to Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington students in a challenging and yet very rewarding environment. You will also work closely with Student Counselling, Health Improvement Practitioners, the Health Coach, and other student support teams.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

Ideally, you will have:

  • A current Annual Practising Certificate within the scope of Nurse Practitioner.
  • Broad experience in a primary health care setting.
  • Experience in triaging and assessment of acute needs.
  • Experience in sexual health and contraception would be an advantage.
  • Empathy and interest in working with a diverse student population.
  • Experience and interest in working in Māori and Pasifika health an advantage.
  • A genuine interest in younger people's health care needs.
  • Familiarity and competence using Primary Care Medical Records Software (Indici).
  • Evidence of satisfactory current medical indemnity (NZNO or equivalent cover).
  • A current CPR certificate.
