Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
The University of Canterbury (UC) project "He Kokonga Whare e Kitea" is designed to accelerate student success through the strategic use of data. As a Senior Analyst in this fixed-term role, you'll have the chance to leverage modern tools while advancing your analytical and reporting expertise. You'll collaborate with a supportive technical team and engage with diverse stakeholders across UC, contributing to impactful data-driven initiatives. Tasks will include:
- Identifying and improving the value of new and existing datasets through high quality analysis
- Collaboration with key stakeholders and team members to understand, extract and deliver high quality data and analytics insights
- Using modern tools and techniques to clean and analyse a wide variety of complex datasets
- Ensuring data privacy and ethical data use
- Improve the visibility and availability of high-quality data and insights for stakeholders across UC in a way that is easily understandable for non-technical stakeholders.
Mōu | Who You Are
You will be an experienced Senior Analyst with at least 5 years in a similar role. You will also have:
- Extensive experience in business analysis, information analysis, or data science within large organisations, ideally across multiple functions and industries. An understanding of the Higher Education environment is an advantage.
- Advanced proficiency in data visualisation tools, particularly Microsoft Power BI, with the ability to design clear, engaging dashboards, presentations, and reports.
- Experience managing data from multiple sources within a data warehouse platform, preferably Snowflake.
- Strong analytical skills in interpreting both qualitative and quantitative data to provide actionable insights for management.
- Proven track record of addressing complex management questions through data-driven insights and advanced analytical methods.
- Ability to work independently with confidence, while also collaborating effectively within a team.
- Master's Degree (NZQA Level 9), ideally in Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, or equivalent work experience.
