Are you a people-focussed, dynamic communicator with a passion for marketing? Ready to take the lead in creating impactful marketing strategies and content that makes a difference? Join the University of Canterbury (UC) as a Marketing Partner and help drive the success of our faculties while fostering collaboration across teams.

This role will primarily work with our Faculty of Health as a key stakeholder, but with scope to support other faculties, business units and cross-faculty initiatives.

In this role, you'll be at the heart of UC's marketing efforts, designing and executing marketing plans, creating audience-focussed content, and coordinating events that elevate UC's profile and attract prospective students both nationally and internationally. As a Marketing Partner your focus will be on product marketing while contributing to the wider UC marketing activity. What You'll Be Doing:

  • Develop & Implement Marketing Strategies: Craft and execute an annual Marketing Plan that aligns with UC's objectives, reaching target audiences through diverse channels. Your ideas will directly contribute to raising awareness and attracting students.
  • Content Creation & Management: Lead the creation of content with our production team, including photography shoots, video shoots, social media posts, and written materials. You'll make sure content is fresh, engaging, and reflective of UC's bicultural commitment.
  • Event Coordination: Own the delivery of memorable faculty events, from logistics to execution, ensuring they're on time, within budget, and aligned with UC's strategic goals.
  • Collaboration & Relationship Building: Build strong relationships with the faculty leadership team and key academics, and partner with teams across UC to promote initiatives that support faculty programmes. You'll also work closely with external agencies to craft impactful advertising and promotional materials.

Mōu | Who You Are

  • Tertiary Qualification - National Diploma in relevant field
  • Your communication skills are second to none, and you thrive when engaging with a wide range of people. You're a natural at building relationships and getting things done with enthusiasm.
  • With at least 5 years of relevant experience, you've developed and implemented marketing plans that drive results. You're comfortable creating content for both digital and print platforms and have a strong understanding of web content management systems, digital marketing platforms, reporting tools such as GA4 or Looker Studio, and creative tools (e.g. Adobe Express or similar).
  • You show a commitment to bicultural competency and have an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.
  • You know how to manage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders and always adapt your approach to meet different needs.
  • An alignment with our organisation's values and culture, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
