Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
The Project and Communications Specialist will oversee the coordination and communication efforts for the Carbon Dioxide Removal Research Program, within the Civil & Natural Resources Engineering
department, ensuring effective outreach, marketing, and event management to promote research. This role includes managing research communications, coordinating events, and providing project administration, such as reporting, budgeting, and supporting day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate research communications, including creating and distributing content across various platforms.
  • Organise and manage events and outreach activities related to the project.
  • Provide efficient project support, including reporting, budget management, and administrative tasks.
  • Maintain and update content on the program's website and oversee communications across multiple channels, including social media.
  • Foster professional relationships across the program's stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration.

 

Mōu | Who You Are

To be successful in this role you will need a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar business-related administrative or communications role, preferably within a large complex organisation, and have:

  • experience or a background in the scientific industry, is strongly preferred
  • proven experience in outreach and communication coordination, ideally in educational or technical sectors
  • demonstrated ability in event management, including organising functions and large-scale events
  • strong experience in budget management and database management
  • proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Experience in content management systems is a plus
  • experience with social media management and online communication strategies
  • exceptional written and oral communication skills, with professional presentation and attention to detail
  • ability to develop and nurture relationships with a variety of stakeholders, from technical experts to senior professionals
  • a high degree of initiative, creativity, and the ability to work independently.
