  • Full-time at 37.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE)
  • Fixed Term position 3rd February to 5th December 2025 (parental leave)

Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
The School of Physical and Chemical Sciences is excited to invite applications from highly motivated individuals to join our dynamic team as a Teaching Laboratory Coordinator. You will take on a key role overseeing a portfolio of chemical sciences classes in our teaching laboratories. Your duties will cover coordinating, preparation and delivery of our lab classes, designing engaging experiments/class materials and student assessments and providing support and guidance to demonstrators.

In this position, you'll also have the opportunity to contribute to others' portfolios and the wider activities of the School's laboratories, collaborating with coordinators and program leaders to ensure our lab classes remain innovative and aligned with lecture content and participation in our outreach and engagement activities.

Mōu | Who You Are
You will have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree with Honours (NZQA Level 8) in Chemistry / Biochemistry.

Your background includes valuable experience in a tertiary laboratory setting, especially with undergraduate classes, complemented by strong communication skills adaptable to diverse environments. Your enthusiasm for scientific communication, coupled with exceptional collaborative aptitude, sets you apart.

You thrive on challenges and possess a talent for effective problem-solving and are, eager to contribute to advancing our teaching laboratories capabilities. Your familiarity with laboratory health and safety protocols and relevant legislation underscores your dedication to maintaining secure lab environments.
