Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
As Cleaning Manager at the University of Canterbury (UC) you are responsible for overseeing and coordinating all cleaning activities within the University campus: You will:
- Lead a team of cleaning staff to ensure the cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation standards are consistently met across all University facilities
- Ensure strategic and operational objectives are meet through the attraction, development and retention of high calibre staff
- Ensure the cleaning team provide a functional, effective and customer-focused service in alignment with the Property and Campus Services Plan and UC Vision
- Ensure the Cleaning services function effectively and efficiently within budget parameter
- Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors
- Upholding the University's commitment to providing a clean, safe, and conducive learning environment for all stakeholders.
Mōu | Who You Are
You will have at least 7 years commercial cleaning experience in a management position, and you will be able to demonstrate experience in:
- Managing and developing a team
- Development and maintenance of quality standards for provision of services
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
- Managing contracts and monitoring and maintaining service level agreements for external suppliers and services
- Performance in managing waste/cleaning services across a large organisation with sustainability/recycling targets
- Managing a budget
- Knowledge and experience of relevant legislation, national standards, professional and other guidelines, procedures, and practices
- Understanding of health and safety in the workplace
- Computer literacy with MS Office and analytical and problem-solving skills
