Job Description:

Are you a passionate trainer with a knack for designing engaging and effective training programs? Do you have a talent for inspiring and empowering others to reach their full potential? If so, we invite you to apply for the position of Learning and Development Trainer at AUT.

As one of the world's top 50 young universities and New Zealand's newest, Auckland University of Technology (AUT) is a university of opportunity where all students with talent and potential have the chance to succeed. We are a socially-driven university with equity and excellence central to our purpose and actions, and we offer a stimulating teaching and research environment with strong connections to government, business, and industry. AUT has more than 27,000 students and over 4,000 staff based primarily at our three Auckland teaching campuses.

As a Learning and Development Trainer, you will play a vital role in supporting the professional growth and development of our university's workforce. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and delivering comprehensive training programs and workshops for staff members across various departments and levels of the university.
  • Creating engaging and interactive training content that aligns with the university's strategic goals and priorities, leveraging a variety of instructional techniques and technologies.
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts and stakeholders to identify training needs and develop targeted learning solutions.
  • Facilitating training sessions in-person and virtually, ensuring that participants are actively engaged and have ample opportunities for skill-building and knowledge acquisition.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, surveys, and feedback mechanisms, and making continuous improvements based on results.

Requirements for the role:

  •  A degree equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in learning and development role.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement training programs in a large complex organisation.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to connect with diverse audiences and create an inclusive learning environment.
  • A collaborative and customer-focused approach to work, with a commitment to delivering high-quality training solutions that meet the needs of stakeholders.

Joining AUT means becoming part of a community dedicated to excellence, innovation, and lifelong learning. Here, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the professional development of our staff while advancing your own career in a collaborative and inclusive environment.

AUT has fantastic staff benefits including free study, a personal fund for your continued professional development, free membership to AUT gyms and generous leave allowances.

If you're ready to inspire and empower others through impactful learning experiences, we encourage you to apply.
