We are seeking 30 dedicated and enthusiastic individuals who are wanting to further develop their leadership skills & qualities as a Navigator - Villages, in the Office of Pacific Advancement (OPA).

OPA is grounded in a collective commitment to elevating the well-being and success of Pacific communities at AUT and beyond. Our Navigator - Villages role collaborates with OPA on shaping and delivering our programmes and student learning and success initiatives. Through mana-enhancing relationships with students, they support students in overcoming the challenges of the university environment to ensure that everyone who walks through our doors has the opportunity to cross the stage at graduation.

We are seeking Navigators who meet the criteria, place priority on their academic success whose values are aligned with AUT values and are inclusive, respectful, collaborative and open.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

We are seeking Navigators who meet the criteria below, place priority on their academic success and whose values are aligned with AUT values, being inclusive, respectful, collaborative and open.

For this role, the minimum requirements are:

  • Applicants must be in their second year or higher of their degree programme.
  • Applicants have a grade point average (GPA) of B over the past year at the time of application.
  • Applicant must not have failed any course in the previous calendar year.
  • Applicants are currently enrolled at AUT as a student.

We are seeking people who:

Have excellent communication skills and time management skills.

  • Have strong customer service skills to engage with students.
  • Are confident to build and maintain relationships with students and staff.

Please note a Police Check, a current transcript and a CV are requested. Two referee checks will also take place prior to confirmation of employment.

KEY TASKS:

  • Be a friendly and welcoming face by actively engaging with students
  • Provide academic and personal peer mentorship
  • Escalate student well-being and/or academic progress concerns
  • Support OPA with the development and implementation of engaging activities
  • Be an ambassador for OPA in Va Pasifika spaces

This role will be based at AUT City, North & South Campus. This role is for employment in Villages only.
