About the Role:

As the Postgraduate Learning and Development Facilitator, you play a pivotal role in shaping the future of postgraduate research at Massey University. This position is crucial in leading the development, delivery, and evaluation of our Supervisor Accreditation programme and facilitating top-tier learning and development opportunities for our postgraduate research students. Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and manage Supervisor Accreditation, ensuring alignment with Massey’s research supervision policies.
  • Develop high-quality learning resources for both supervisors and postgraduate students across various platforms.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of programmes to ensure continuous improvement and evidence-based practices.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders such as research supervisors, the Teaching Academy and student support services, and external bodies like the Australian Council of Graduate Research.

Who Are We Looking For:

We value individuals who are effective communicators, able to build strong relationships, and work cooperatively within diverse teams. We are particularly looking for:

  • A passionate educator, with a postgraduate research degree, preferably doctoral.
  • A proven track record in teaching, learning facilitation, and professional development within a postgraduate or research-intensive setting. Experience in supervising student research would be ideal.
  • A thorough understanding of the university sector, including national and international trends, the New Zealand postgraduate research environment, and familiarity with the stages of postgraduate research, expected milestones, and the related policies, strategies, and processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, adeptness in planning, delivering, evaluating, and reporting on professional learning and development initiatives.
  • An appreciation and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its implications for work at Massey University.
