Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

We are looking for a Scholarships Financial Administrator to join our team! In this role you will Provide operational expertise in the Scholarships financial framework and support the Scholarships Manager with budget planning, phasing and developments to meet strategic goals and departmental KPIs. You will advise the manager of the availability and tenure of donor funding and administer invoicing and credit control of donor-funded awards.You will also undertake the role of central finance contact point for the University’s participation in Government scholarship programmes.

This is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week, on a 12 month contract. The salary range for this role is $58,300 - $72,700 per annum depending on experience and qualifications.

Our suitable candidate will meet these requirements:

  • University degree or equivalent demonstrable business experience.
  • A minimum of five years experience in a similar role.
  • Proven experience in effectively influencing teams.
  • Experience in NZ university degree structures and administrative processes.
  • Experience in working to tight deadlines and solving financial and reporting queries.
  • Experience with multiple-level stakeholder relationships.
  • Knowledge of accounting practices and of budget phasing and spreadsheet procedures.
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills.
  • An unusually high attention to detail with an awareness of the ‘big picture’ strategy.
  • Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills through relationships within the department and division.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
