Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

Assessment Services is fast approaching one of our busiest times of the year with semester one exams just around the corner. We are seeking to employ enthusiastic and results-driven casual staff members to support online exams and provide in class student support.

Applicants must be technically minded and be able to explain technical concepts to students and staff in an exam setting.

You must also have an excellent eye for detail and meticulous in your record keeping.

You need to be available from the 20th of May to the 27th of June. Initially, your hours will be part-time, but from the 29th of May until the 27th of June will be full-time hours (Monday - Friday 8am/9am - 4pm/5pm).

You will need to be confident using online systems and talking through processes to new and existing users. You'll also need great communication skills to manage queries with patience, professionalism and confidence.

Skills you will bring to the role:

  • Proven experience in a customer focused role
  • Strong communication skills
  • Digitally savvy and confident using technology
  • Keen to learn in a fast-paced environment with the ability to pick up new information promptly.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with setting up exams and assessments in Inspera.
  • Providing technical support for professional and academic staff across the University.
  • Providing ad hoc user support as needed.
  • Tracking exam and assessment set-up in Inspera, stepping in to assist when required.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and support.
  • Assist with class test, assessment organisation and delivery using Inspera.
  • Performing quality checks before exams and assessments go live to students.
  • Monitor progress of tests and exams online.

This is a casual role. The hourly rate for this role is $25.50 per hour.
