Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

An opportunity has emerged for an Administrator, internally referred to as a Group Services Administrator, to join our Group Services team in the Faculty of Education & Social Work. This is full-time permanent position.

Our Group Services Administrators (GSA) are the key in providing teaching and learning related administration support. The position provides support for teaching delivery, course administration, examination and final grade processes, as well as some coordination support in the sub-doctoral and doctoral space.

We are often the ‘go-to’ or ‘subject matter experts’ therefore our organisation, communication and people skills need to be second to none.

 

Mō tō mātou rōpū | About the team

Recently moved to the City Campus, the Faculty of Education and Social Work occupies the new Building 201, Building 114, Building 435 and Building 113, amidst hustle and bustle of the City Campus.  The City Campus is the main campus for the Faculty of Education and Social Work but we also teach at Te Tai Tokerau and Te Tai Tonga.

At the Faculty of Education and Social Work we deliver foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate courses. We offer a community-minded, supportive, multicultural environment where forging strong bonds with lecturers and peers is valued.

 

He kōrero mōu | About you

As a Group Services Administrator you will:

  • Provide teaching and learning administration support for course and academic processes in line with the University’s policies
  • Course, assessment and examination administration
  • Be comfortable working in-person/on-site at our City campus

Please note this is full-time (0.8FTE, 30 hours per week) permanent position, with a salary range of $55,501- $57,500 pro rata per annum which will be dependent on experience.

Our ideal candidate will bring the following:

  • Previous experience in an administration role with a deadline focus environment
  • Be able to work proactively and autonomously, using initiative to solve problems requiring judgement and interpretation of established information 
  • You will be a people- centric, team player and will not be afraid to ask questions or follow up with stakeholders
  • You will be a confident user of Microsoft suite, e.g. Word, Excel, MS Teams and have the ability to pick up other systems quickly
  • Thinking on your feet, critical thinking and adaptability are essential for success in the role
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage a busy workload
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
