Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

We seek two Junior Communication Automation Specialists to join our Student and Academic Services team. In this role, you will support the communication automation function in the Student Experience Centre. Working closely with the Communication Automation Specialists and Service Partnership team, you will create communications campaigns and assist in delivering holistic customer experiences. You’ll gather and analyse data to inform digital communication activities, and use these insights to enhance campaigns for our internal and external stakeholders.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Work with our analyst to ensure the data is correct and accurate.  
  • Identify operational opportunities that align with the division's objectives and individual goals while adhering to University policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot issues and implement solutions as needed.
  • Provide services in a respectful manner and support the use of the te reo Māori language in their work.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues at all levels to support the division's goals and foster a positive work environment.

These are both full-time,  37.5 hours per week, on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The salary range for this role is $68,600 - $84,700 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

He kōrero mōu | About you

As our preferred candidates, you will have experience in communications and marketing, particularly in automation or a similar environment, including platforms such as Eloqua, Campaign Monitor, Marketo, etc. You will have excellent relationship-building skills, using these along with your strong interpretation skills to develop, implement and/or enhance current processes and systems.

Our suitable candidates will meet the requirements below:

  • Comfort working with large datasets and databases for business purposes.
  • Understanding of automated communication and marketing campaign principles.
  • Basic knowledge of Communication and Marketing Automation infrastructure.
  • Experience in planning and managing your workload within a complex environment.
  • Interest in learning about te ao Māori and cultural competency within a team.
  • Understanding and commitment to cultural diversity and inclusion principles.
  • Desire to promote Kia Whakamana i te Tangata. 
  • Familiarity with cross-functional team ways of working in an agile environment.
  • Understanding of how to improve service performance based on operational drivers.
