Position Overview

The Massey University (Manawatū) Student Care Team is seeking an experienced and dynamic mental health professional to provide training and support to other university staff who are managing student emotional unwellness. In addition, you will support the clinical colleagues (medical and counselling) with wellbeing promotion, education and outreach.

While based in Palmerston North, the role has a national reach and cooperates with colleagues across the University campuses. As part of a supportive team, this challenging role will suit a person with a Social Work, Counselling, Mental Health or related qualification and experience working with our demographic. Although this is not primarily a clinical role, it includes significant student contact and support, as well as opportunities for personal and professional growth in a dynamic environment. You will be required to develop and deliver training and to provide consultation or supervision of other university staff.

We require:

· At least three years’ experience and high-level skills in a relevant role.

· An appropriate undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline such as social work, counselling, psychology, mental health nursing, health promotion or similar

· Current registration and practising certificate as required within the discipline
